Cherry Blossom Theme

Asian culture has definitely become popular in the West. And that’s definitely apparent in some of the wedding themes. The cherry blossom is a symbol of Japanese culture. It’s a beautiful tree but because it loses its petals quickly the tree symbolizes the speed that life changes and is a reminder to cherish the present – a beautiful sentiment for weddings.

Today, if you want to have an Asian theme wedding, the cherry blossom should definitely be part of your theme. You can have beautiful wedding cakes made to resemble the shades of the cherry blossom tree, for example, or you can purchase wedding invitations decorated with cherry blossom images. You can also purchase the petals to use instead of rose petals by your flower girl or you can sprinkle them in a decorative bowl of water with a floating candle scented like, you guessed it, cherry blossoms.

But you don’t have to only use cherry blossoms for your Asian theme. Here are a few other options:

Have a sushi bar at your reception

Use decorative chopsticks as either part of the decor or as a functional alternative to the spoon and fork.

You can also put some japanese lanterns in the reception area

Souvenir items for your guests

Hopefully, these ideas will get you started in the right direction for planning your own Asian-themed wedding.
